Originally an Exhibition

of Photographic Prints at C'ville Coffee in Charlottesville, Virginia

Man Made Wilderness is now a collection of images created by Kent Wiley with the express purpose of showing how our landscape has been shaped by human forces - to such an extent that its original form is gone forever and totally unrecognizable. More images are added regularly to this page. All have a human component, despite the general absence of actual individuals. These are far from the untouched, pristine landscapes of our imaginations. They are the places where we live and work and love. Please enjoy my attempts to find a wilderness in the places we inhabit rather than some mythical place we wish we could escape to.
